Terms of Service

Welcome to Med-Mindrz (“we,” “our,” “us”). Med-Mindrz is a consumer self-care reminder service that allows users to create and schedule SMS reminders for themselves or for a family member or person they care for (“Care Recipient”). By using Med-Mindrz, you agree to the following Terms.

1. Service Description

Med-Mindrz allows:

  • An account owner (“Caregiver”) to create custom reminder messages
  • Delivery of those reminder messages only to the Care Recipient’s verified phone number
  • The Caregiver to receive generic confirmation notices only (e.g., “Reminder completed”)

Med-Mindrz does not provide medical advice and is not a healthcare provider.

2. No Medical Provider Relationship

Med-Mindrz is not:

  • A medical provider
  • A pharmacy
  • A telemedicine service
  • A HIPAA-covered entity

All reminders are consumer-generated and for personal/family use only.

You understand that Med-Mindrz does not diagnose, treat, or provide professional medical information.

3. User Responsibility for Message Content

Users may enter reminders that reference medications, schedules, or personal tasks. Users are solely responsible for all message content they create.

However, detailed medical information is only sent to the Care Recipient and is never sent to the Caregiver or any third party.

Med-Mindrz may filter or block messages that attempt to send:

  • Diagnoses
  • Lab results
  • Treatment plans
  • Medical conditions
  • Medication details to anyone other than the Care Recipient

4. Consent & Opt-In Requirements

Before sending reminders to a Care Recipient, Med-Mindrz will send an opt-in request:

“You were added to Med-Mindrz by [Caregiver Name]. Reply YES to receive reminder messages. Reply STOP to opt out.”

Reminders will not begin unless the Care Recipient replies YES.

The Care Recipient may opt out at any time by replying STOP. Reply HELP for assistance.

This opt-in process is required for Twilio and carrier compliance.

5. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use Med-Mindrz for:

  • Messaging unrelated third parties
  • Sending medical information to anyone other than the Care Recipient
  • Marketing, promotions, financial offers, or political messages
  • Harassment or abuse
  • Emergencies
  • Professional medical communications

Violating these rules may result in account termination.

6. SMS Delivery

Message delivery may depend on:

  • Carrier networks
  • Device status
  • Signal strength

Med-Mindrz is not responsible for undelivered messages.

This service is not a replacement for emergency or critical medical systems.

7. Privacy and Data Handling

We store:

  • Your account information
  • Reminder schedules
  • Opt-in confirmations
  • Generic acknowledgment statuses

We never store:

  • Diagnoses
  • Lab results
  • Medical records
  • PHI sent from a provider

Care Recipient messages are encrypted and accessible only to the Care Recipient's phone number.

8. Disclaimers

Med-Mindrz is not liable for:

  • Missed reminders
  • Incorrect entries by users
  • Health consequences caused by failure to follow medical treatment
  • Any decisions made based on reminder messages

Use the service at your own risk.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that:

  • Violate these Terms
  • Abuse the messaging system
  • Attempt to send prohibited content
